It’s Official, We’re Moving November 23, 2010
Well, not me and the hunny, we’re here for a little while longer. However, I am officially going to move my blog over to Blogger today.
I feel like it’s a slight hassle, but I’m hoping that it ends up being a good decision.
So, this will probably be one of my last posts on this blog.
If you want to continue reading about my random ramblings, please visit my new blogger blog over at:
I hope that you’ll join me over there and I’m looking forward to chatting you all more and my new blog design that will be revealed in the future!
In the Middle of the Night… November 22, 2010
So my butt is seriously dragging this morning. The hunny was out-of-town doing hunny things and came home last night. Really, really late. Like, rolled in at 4:30 am late. Both Little D and Little Girl didn’t know what was going on so they’re barking and growling at him when they should know him fairly well by now. So much for being refreshed after the weekend. And I wish my system got along with caffeine, man I could use it this morning. In the least, I should’ve stuck a hot chocolate in the Keurig (btw, best invention ever).
And of all weeks, I wish I could recuperate a little this week. We’ve been going a million miles a minute for what feels like weeks now, and I always love Thanksgiving. Four glorious days off plus way more food than I can eat and lots of shopping. Right? Wrong. Not this year. I have to work Friday. What’s up with that? Yeah, I could’ve taken the day off, but I’m saving my vacation for the week before the wedding so that I can get a lot done. And trust me, I’m sad that I don’t get to go shopping. I actually love people watching. A couple of years ago I watched two ladies get in a fight at Target over a toy. I have no idea what it was, but the fight was hilarious. I’m not a 4 am shopper, but I like a good deal.
In other news, I think I’m switching to Blogger. I can have a custom design and do as much over there as I can on WordPress. Here’s the link: http://itsadogtagwifelife.blogspot.com/
I’m going to try to transition my old blog posts over there, so you may have to bear with me. Hope your Monday is off to a more caffeinated one than mine.
Switching Blogs November 19, 2010
Hey friends out there in the blogosphere, I have a question for you. I know that my blog is still relatively young, but does anyone have any experience in switching from WordPress to Blogger? I originally used WordPress because when I used Blogger years ago, it didn’t have nearly as many features as it does now and wasn’t exactly that easy, other than posting. And that was it. But like I said, this was several years ago.
But now, to make my blog look better, and have some of the cool features (like Google Docs) that I can’t use now.
If you’ve made the switch, let me know what you think. Thanks!
1. If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs – such as food and water – were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?
Well, I’d want the hunny there, but I’m assuming he’d be there with me. I’d have to say my journal, I’d want to track everything I’m doing and I’ve written everyday since I was 17 years old. And probably my computer with internet access. Gotta stay connected somehow!
2. If you were a salad, what kind of dressing would you have?
Hmm, there’s a blush wine vinagarette that I love. But it can be too overwhelming for some. It’s a little sweet, a little tart, and definitely can be the center of attention if you let it.
3. If you had to live on a ranch, what kind of animals would you raise/own?
I don’t know why, but I think it’d be fun to raise alpaca and ostriches. Alpaca have such wonderful coats. Also, I know they’d never let me, but I’ve always wanted to ride an ostrich. Plus, I hear they taste delicious
4. If your life was was portrayed as a movie, who would you choose to play you and your significant other?
This one is really tough. I’d probably say Alyson Hannigan. When I was a little younger, people always told me I reminded them of her. Plus, she and I seem to have some of the mannerisms. As far as the hunny, that’s a really tough one. Maybe Jake Gyllenhaal. He looks a little bit like him, plus, he can be very serious, but playful when he wants. That’s sort of how the hunny is. Serious most of the time, but when no one else is around, very goofy.
5. What was the last thing you put a stamp on (envelope, duh, but what was in the envelope)?
Actually, it was thank you cards from our engagement party. Well, I did part of them, I’ve been bugging the hunny to do the ones from his family. I also am part of a program from my university where I’m an alumni where I write postcards to potential students telling them how great my experience is and encouraging them to visit the school. It’s fun and makes me feel like I am still involved.
Playing Around With Themes November 18, 2010
I’m just playing around with a new theme for my blog. I wasn’t sure the other one was quite as fun as I was looking for. I’m going to keep playing to figure out what suits me best. I love Uncork and Unwined and ACUs and ABCs new designs. I wonder if Brea can do one for WordPress too.
Seriously. This is for you dog lovers out there. Occasionally I read Hyperbole and a Half. I don’t even know how to describe her blog, except that it makes me chuckle every time I read it.
Her latest entry is about her two dogs and a move that they made. It involved high-pitched noises that her dog makes, snow, dog’s being sick, booties, and squeaky toys. It doesn’t sound that funny, but trust me, it is. I laughed and laughed. Especially if you have dogs, you should absolutely read this. Even if you don’t have dogs, it’s funny. All I could do was picture my animals doing this.
Speaking of animals…I came out of my bathroom the last two mornings after getting ready to find Little Girl & Little D snuggling on his bed. I’m amazed that they like each other this much so early. And I need to bring my camera upstairs to take a picture, it’s so darn cute.
